WOMAN OF THE YEAR

The Dodge City Area Women's Chamber of Commerce annual award shall be known as 'Woman of the Year' effective January 2006. This award honors individuals who strive toward the highest levels of accomplishment defined as women who excel in their chosen field, have devoted time and energy to their community in a meaningful way, and who also open paths so that others may follow. 

Apllicatcants will be selected annually in the fall from nomination forms received from the membership at the discretion of the committee. Nominees must be women living in Ford County or the surrounding area. should a nominee pass away during the current membership year, then a posthumous award may be considered. 

Award recipients must meet each of three specific criteria:

1: Assist women in reaching their full leadership potential.

2: Demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession.

3: Provide valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life from others in the community. 

The committee reviews applications to assure each application meets criteria, as stated above. The recipient will be announced at the December Membership Meeting and honored at the Annual Banquet of the Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerece, Inc.
